An (Extremely) belated 4th of July post

Hey Y'all!

As the title explains, I am (finally!)  posting about the 4th, a month later. I know, I know, that's procrastinating. I'm working on that, I promise!
So here we go:

We arrived rather late (whoops), and went immediately to play in the creek. Since there were some certain children that were splashing, I decided not to risk getting my camera wet.

My friends resting, staying hydrated. It was so hot that day!
After a little while our wonderful planner Charity had some games prepared for the kids. For the younger kids, she had them painting, while the older ones were Tossing Water Balloons, volleyball, and . . .
Sack races!
Waiting for the race to start with anticipation.
Watching the sack and three-legged race.
We also had a pie competition. Here is one of the judges, overlooking the splendid array of artwork on the pies ;-) Each pie judge had their own "region" of pies to taste.
The three judges discussing their favorite pies.

After our meal, we had a piñata made by my beloved and talented Mother!
The following pictures are of kids enjoying abusing the poor piñata ;-)

Even though I did say that the older kids played volleyball, evidently this little man wanted to try it out for himself!
Now for the program.
The Declaration of Independence.
There was a skit
Mamie, poor old soul, always " Trying to go as fast as these ol' legs would carry her"!
The Distinguished General Washington. . .
and the lovely Mrs. Ross!
My friend Chloe informing us on the history to Our National Anthem. Her phone didn't save the notes she had worked on, so she did it all off the top of her head! Bravo, Chloe!!

L-R My sisters Gabriela and Emily, Victoria, and Hannah, singing My Country 'Tis of Thee.

Emma-Grace and her brother Brayden delighted us by playing blue-grass.

This was the best 4th of July ever. We had so much fun with friends and family, and I totally can't wait for next year!
I hope y'all enjoyed these pictures!
Bye Y'all!!

  2. Thank you so much Clara! I am practicing my photography pretty often now, my favorite subjects being nature, scenery and babies :-). I'm not sure if I will share the pie recipe to everyone, but let me think about it for a few more months.
Hope y'all are feeling better, we have been praying for all y'all.
    Love Y'all!
P.S. Say hello to your family for us!
