~Lest We Forget~

Image
Hey Y'all! I truly meant to post this on the 4th, but we have been working at our new house, and I do not have WiFi at the house, so... I'm sorry! I know poems are not easy for everyone, but please take time to read this poem. It is very important! ~ Recessional~ by Rudyard Kipling God of our fathers, known of old,    Lord of our far-flung battle-line, Beneath whose awful Hand we hold    Dominion over palm and pine— Lord God of Hosts, be with us yet, Lest we forget—lest we forget! The tumult and the shouting dies;    The Captains and the Kings depart: Still stands Thine ancient sacrifice,    An humble and a contrite heart. Lord God of Hosts, be with us yet, Lest we forget—lest we forget! Far-called, our navies melt away;    On dune and headland sinks the fire: Lo, all our pomp of yesterday    Is one with Nineveh and Tyre! Judge of the Na...

Wonderful Words from the Sabbath

Hey Y'all! I just wanted to share these quotes from this Sunday's sermon that I thought were so relevant to our culture today: "If you refuse to study the Word and to pray, it will be expected for you to be tossed around by every wind of doctrine."  "Many applications can be brought to the text that you are studying, yet even those  can be wrong." "God is not silent. There are 66 books filled with what He wants us to know about himself and life." "Do not exchange false peace for truth. The false peace that you have put your trust in will vanish and leave you in the dust." What do you think? Feel free to comment below!

Overdue post..... Mother's Day!

Image
Hey y'all! ( This post is long overdue, I'm sorry! I have so many posts started, but not finished, and today I am determined to post this. Enjoy! ) MOTHER'S DAY ( These pictures were taken by a friend of ours! Thank you so much for letting me use them!)     This year, two of my good friends (below) decided to honor the moms of the church, and took the initiative to arrange a tea for the ladies of the church.   Y'all did an amazing job! Little Jan Calvary with her Nana  (cuteness overload)! Mothers and daughters: Mama, you are such a blessing to me, and I am so grateful God chose you of all women to be my mom! Proverbs 31:10, 25, 28-31 Who  can find a virtuous woman? for her price is far above rubies. Strength and honour are her clothing; and she shall rejoice in time to come.   Her children arise up, and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praiseth her.  Many daughters ...

Panama, An (extremely) short summary

Image
Hey y'all! I have meant to post this for such a long time, but I have been so busy with school, projects, papers, and stuff like that. But better late than never, right? First off, a big thank you to all who prayed for us!  To tell you the truth, my heart is torn now. I love my country, the USA, my friends, and especially my church, but I also loves my mom's home country, and all of my family. (Right now, this describes me perfectly :P It gets a little annoying, honestly. If I don't remember a word in English, I say it in Spanish. I wish Spanglish was a real language....) Our departure of the States was a huge miracle, and it would take too much time to tell you everything (though I wish I could, truly!). The plane ride gave me a lot of time to think about how really small and insignificant we really are. We, who are so little, are so beloved by the Father! What a thought! We are like ants (barely!), insignificant, yet the father loved us so much that He sen...

Prayer Requests for Panama

Hey guys! I just wanted to share a little bit of what's been going on now. Our lives have been turned upside during the last few days. But God has been with us through all. Tomorrow we board our flight to Panama I have a few prayer requests: -Safety as we travel. -May God allow us to be salt and light to my family in Panama. -Panama is a dark country. Please Pray that we could guard our hearts, minds, and our eyes. Thank you so much y'all! Until next time, Adios Amigos!!

Please Pray!!

Today, my mom got a call from my grandparents, bearing the sad news that my aunt died. She was in her early 50's, and probably not a Christian. We have no idea what happened. It was so sudden, and unexpected. Mama talked to her yesterday, and even ordered her a pair of shoes, which she was waiting for with great anticipation. I weep as I write this. I remember her as such a jolly woman, always ready to serve. The last time I saw her, I was 6 years old, when we traveled to my mother's home country. Guy's, listen to me. We are not sure that my aunt was saved, and that's what saddens us the most. Psalm 90:11-12 says " Who knoweth the power of Thine anger? even according to thy fear so is Thy wrath. So teach us to number our days, that we may gain a heart of wisdom." Our days are numbered. We never know when our last day is going to be. Y'all, this is a grim reminder to us all to "number our days" Friends, please pray for my Panamanian fam...

.......Hi!

Well, how are you doing since the last time I was here? Don't worry, I'm still alive and kicking. To be honest, I haven't really found time to blog, being busy with school, my beloved piano-playing, and getting back into crafts (Did you know that crocheting isn't really that bad?) I had a post that I wanted to share with y'all, but............... ... I really have no excuse......... Sorry y'all! Anyway, I wanted to share with y'all some pictures that my sisters and I took when it snowed some 3 weeks ago. As it snowed the night before these pictures were taken, I promised my sisters that we would have a photo-shoot before the snow melted, and down here in the south (where snow is rare), it melts rather quickly. The snow was beautiful, and breathtaking. It reminded me so much of Isaiah 1:18 "Come now, and let us reason together, saith the LORD: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, t...
